Central Utah and the Sevier Valley host a mix of CUASA club activities and independently operated paragliding events. CUASA-organized events are listed first, followed by major independent competitions taking place in the Monroe / Red Rocks flying area. Please follow each event’s official link for registration, eligibility, schedules, and organizer information.
CUASA Club Events and Fly-Ins
Pioneer Day Fly-In
July 23–25, 2026
Monroe City
A free, club-member fly-in held in conjunction with Monroe City’s annual Pioneer Day celebration. This is a relaxed, community-focused event highlighting Central Utah flying and local traditions.
Event highlights
- Flying over Monroe City ahead of the town’s Pioneer Day fireworks show
- Participation alongside the city’s well-known Pioneer Day parade
- Community BBQ and breakfast hosted by the Monroe Senior Citizens organization
- Club-style flying with informal meetups and coordinated launch windows

Independent Competitions in the Monroe / Red Rocks Area
The following competitions are operated by independent commercial event organizers and are included here as a service to pilots, visitors, and the Sevier County tourism community. These events are not organized, operated, sponsored, insured, or controlled by CUASA. Registration, payments, eligibility, event operations, transportation, waivers, insurance, safety systems, and participant communications are handled directly by each event organizer.
Niviuk Red Rocks Wide Open, SRS Qualifier 2026 / Pre-PWC

Monroe and the Central Utah flying area
The Niviuk Red Rocks Wide Open is an international cross-country paragliding competition based in Monroe. The competition highlights Central Utah’s high-elevation launches, expansive cross-country terrain, reliable fall flying conditions, and access to the mountain and desert landscapes surrounding the Sevier Valley.
Pilot registration, the current pilot list, represented countries, competition status, and official event information are available through CIVLComps.

Global Rescue XRedRocks
September 30–October 3, 2026
Monroe and the surrounding Central Utah mountain and desert terrain
Global Rescue XRedRocks is a multi-day hike-and-fly competition in which selected athletes travel by paraglider and on foot. The race includes Pro, Adventure, and Challenge divisions and showcases the Monroe area’s combination of mountain flying, endurance recreation, fall scenery, and high-desert terrain.
Registration, athlete requirements, race rules, schedules, tracking, and official updates are handled by the independent XRedRocks organization.

Red Rocks Skills Fly-In / Color Country Paragliding
This is an independently organized commercial school event operated by Color Country Paragliding. It is not a CUASA event. CUASA does not organize, operate, insure, register pilots for, collect payment for, staff, endorse, supervise, or provide transportation for this event.
Pilots are responsible for confirming all details directly with the event organizer, including registration, payment, refunds, pilot requirements, insurance, permits, site access, transportation, and daily operations.
