A curated, higher-eligibility fly-in focused on advanced mountain flying.
For 2026, CUASA is reducing pilot numbers and raising eligibility standards to keep operations aligned with Monroe’s terrain, altitude, and launch environment.

Application and acceptance required before purchase.

  • Pilot cap: 80 pilots
  • Location: Monroe, Utah
  • Entry fee: $250 (paid after acceptance)

Event headquarters will serve as the central hub for:

Transportation to launch

Rides to launch

Rides to launch are available for $20 per trip.
These fees directly support local Monroe drivers and help cover fuel, vehicle wear, and time.

Registration workflow (important)

This event uses a screen-first registration model.

Step 1: Application (required)

All pilots must complete the Red Rocks Fall Fly-In application.
The application determines whether a pilot is a good fit for the type of flying being organized during the event.

Step 2: CUASA review and acceptance

Applications are reviewed for:

  • Experience
  • Currency
  • Judgment
  • Fit for Monroe conditions

Pilots may be acceptedwaitlisted, or declined based on safety and operational considerations.

Step 3: Registration and payment

Accepted pilots receive a private WooCommerce registration link to complete payment.

Waitlist: If the event fills, accepted pilots will be offered openings in order as spots become available.


Eligibility requirements

This fly-in is intended for pilots with demonstrated mountain flying competence and strong independent launch skills.

Minimum eligibility

  • P3, P4, or P5
  • Mountain flying experience
  • Comfortable with cliff launches
  • Confident in high-altitude, cross, light-wind launches
  • Current in high-wind and light-wind launching
  • Strong kiting and wing-control confidence
  • Able to launch without assistance
  • Confident choosing to pack up and not fly when conditions are not appropriate

Not a fit

  • Pilots without recent mountain flying currency
  • Pilots reliant on assisted launches
  • Pilots seeking unrestricted or unsupervised free flying

Verification and access

CUASA may verify pilot currency through:

  • Logbook review
  • Discussion of recent mountain flights
  • An observed flight demonstrating appropriate pilot input and wing control

Once verified, pilots may freely access the Cove and Monroe Peak launches for the duration of the event.


Instruction and evaluation support

Stacy Whitmore will be available during the event for skills-based instruction and in-person evaluation.

This may include:

  • Launch technique and ground-handling feedback
  • Skill tune-ups for mountain and high-altitude conditions
  • Informal evaluations to support pilot judgment and readiness

Local Monroe pilots and CUASA volunteers will assist with launch coordination, daily operations, and site-specific guidance throughout the event.

Refund policy

  • Refunds available until August 15, 2026, minus processing fees
  • After August 15, refunds only if the spot is filled from the waitlist
