Pioneer Day Fly – July 23–25, 2025
Celebrate Utah’s Pioneer Day in the skies above Monroe!
This is a club member-exclusive event featuring casual, fun flying and a new commemorative shirt design for 2025. Enjoy thermals and scenic flights over Monroe as the town hosts its biggest celebration of the year, complete with parades, festivities, and a spectacular fireworks show.
Red Rocks Wide Open – September 5–13, 2025

An open-distance paragliding competition drawing pilots from across the country. Hosted in Monroe’s legendary flying conditions, the Wide Open emphasizes XC freedom, skill-building, and camaraderie. Open to a range of pilot skill levels.
Red Rocks Fall Fly-In – September 22–27, 2025
A highlight of the flying season in Central Utah.
This six-day free flying event brings together up to 350 pilots for mountain launches, smooth morning sledders, evening glass-offs, thermal climbs to 17,999 feet, and community connection. Includes a locals-led safety clinic, daily weather briefings, speakers, food trucks, and a gear swap.
New for 2025: integration with elite-level events and fun team challenges. Open to all USHPA-certified pilots, P2 and up.
Sky Out Team Challenge – Best 3 Days Between September 22–27, 2025
A new team-based altitude contest running within the Red Rocks Fall Fly-In.
Pilots form teams of four (including at least one A or B wing pilot) and work together to achieve the highest average altitude over the best three days of flying. It’s designed to promote participation, mentorship, and teamwork—celebrating the uniquely supportive culture of free flight in Monroe.
Cash prizes distributed to the top five teams.
XRedRocks Hike & Fly Race – September 24–27, 2025

An elite-level multi-day hike-and-fly stage race held in the rugged terrain surrounding Monroe.
Top pilots from North and South America, Europe, and Asia will compete in a physically demanding and highly strategic race that combines fast hiking with high-altitude flying. Each day begins and ends at basecamp, with new tasks set daily. Spectator-friendly and inspiring to watch.
